I AM UNDONE is a process-oriented event for performing arts in Oslo curated by the artists collective LiLi Re.
On January 13th I AM UNDONE will present Vol. 5 where the artists MIKO SOLO, Diana Lola Posani, Sarah Kazmi and Vesaas/Weider/Barfod will perform unseen and unrefined pieces of work.
I AM UNDONE wants to give focus to raw, fresh materials - taking the artistic process as an expression in itself and challenging creative methods. I AM UNDONE welcomes artists across disciplines presenting a wide range of performative actions, innovative, hybrid, unconventional pieces ready to take risks.
I AM UNDONE is a traveling concept and each edition finds its own new home. For Vol. 5 we are enthusiastic to collaborate with the gallery 𝐇𝐔𝐋𝐈𝐀𝐒. Located in an underground vault in central Oslo, Hulias is an artist-run space that promotes spatially oriented contemporary art. Established in 2020 by four visual artists, Hulias is committed to provide an arena for emerging and established artists to convey their practice, and to be a space to experience contemporary art.

I AM UNDONE Vol. 5 will present the following artists:

𝐌𝐈𝐊𝐎 𝐒𝐎𝐋𝐎 (𝐍𝐎/𝐉𝐏)
MIKO SOLO is an artist duo consisting of Mio Ueno and Nikolai Lieblein Røsæg. MIKO SOLO works at the intersection between architecture, installation and performative projects - focusing on material investigations and site sensitivity. Their work goes through theoretical and intuitive investigations which are observed and translated into sculptural and spatial expressions.
Currently they’re developing the project “wosj”, where life is being given to a larger textile structure of silk and metal thread. For I AM UNDONE they want to investigate the performative potential of the textile structure, meeting a specific space, a harmonica (musician: Sjur Nyvold) and an audience.

𝐃𝐈𝐀𝐍𝐀 𝐋𝐎𝐋𝐀 𝐏𝐎𝐒𝐀𝐍𝐈 (𝐈𝐓)
Diana Lola Posani is a sound artist, vocal performer and Deep Listening facilitator.
In her work the voice is used as a narrative sign, a gateway that allows a glimpse of fragments of emotional worlds that unravel in pure sound. Her vocal experimentation focuses on the co-creative relationship between unamplified voice and space and on the metamorphic possibilities offered by extreme vocal techniques. The autobiographical sound-image transforms into a collective dream, making the staging a simple testimony to a passage of state.
In the performance “Scream As If Your Organs Were Made of Glass” she articulates a growl that transforms until it becomes diplo-phonic, giving rise to a menacing, looming shadow so grave and resonant as to appear non-human.

𝐒𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐇 𝐊𝐀𝐙𝐌𝐈 (𝐏𝐊)
Sarah Kazmi (b.1990 Pakistan) is an interdisciplinary artist and a writer who lives and works between Oslo and Karachi. Her artistic practice moves across research and visual production, observing the relationship between food, language and politics. She works with the medium of writing where her texts are visual, rhythmic and performative; often conveyed through a variety of disciplines, which includes sound pieces, video, installations and performance. She is working towards her first solo exhibition titled "Cooking, time?" at the Intercultural Museum in Oslo, 2024. Alongside her artistic practice, Kazmi does policy advocacy for Verdensrommet; an artist-powered mutual support network by/for immigrant artists based in Norway.
“Recipe of/for a Dream”, is an experimental play of scans, hands, photographs and text, recited live in two languages. Performed on a table, it looks specifically at Norwegian language learning textbooks as archives, to involve politics of memory and materiality, to problematize dominant histories and strategies of representation.

𝐕𝐄𝐒𝐀𝐀𝐒, 𝐖𝐄𝐈𝐃𝐄𝐑 & 𝐁𝐀𝐑𝐅𝐎𝐃 (𝐍𝐎)
Sigrid Kittelsaa Vesaas, Mina Weider and Julie Barfod draw inspiration from architecture and dance to shape site-specific installation and performance works. Montebello Kulturhus, Podium and Pamelia kunstfestival have undergone a series of spatial massages, and now it's Hulias's turn. For I am Undone the architectural body of Hulia’s will be kneaded. Revealing a crack. A soft spot. A leak!
