I AM UNDONE is a process-oriented event for performing arts in Oslo, curated by the artist collective LiLi Re. Starting from the notion that art is an alive organism in perpetual development, I AM UNDONE is unique in its attention to hybrid research, underlining the fluidity of performance and giving focus to raw, unpolished, fresh materials.

On Wednesday June 10th we invite you to experience five distinct performances in the making. I AM UNDONE embraces the unfinished and offers a rare glimpse into the artistic process. It brings together artists across disciplines, creating space for bold performative actions that challenge methods and spark new ideas.

Each edition of I AM UNDONE finds a new home, shaping itself in response to its surroundings. For Vol. 11, we are thrilled to collaborate with 𝐄𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐞𝐥 𝐕𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐮𝐦 and be welcome within the walls of the spectacular mausoleum.

ARTISTS:

𝐃ø𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 is composed of the drummer Elisabeth Nesset and the dancers Marianne Kjærsund, Maja Roel, Pernille Holden, Gry Bech-Hanssen & Katja Schia.
Dønning is an ensemble that emerged in connection with the dance performance *Groove* in 2019—a dance concert in which all participants alternated between performing drum compositions and dancing their own personal groove. With a shared passion for rhythm and movement, the ensemble has continued to play drums together and is now developing new stage concepts combining dance and live drumming.
“Sørgemarsj for Oslofjorden” will be a walking performance on Gressholmen in August 2026, where the ensemble forms an unusual drum band that moves itself and its audience through the landscape. Gressholmen’s nature is vulnerable, and the march focuses on the experience of the small within the large, rooted in the despair over the loss of nature. The project explores the collective power of rhythm and dance as expressions of grief, care, and above all, the mobilisation of agency and solidarity. This is a site-specific project rooted in a shared enthusiasm for nature, movement, and drumming. For I AM UNDONE the focus will be on exploring the vibrations of the drums in harmony with the mausoleum, and listening to the connections between the past and the future.

PODSOL is the name of Norway’s most prevalent soil type and the working title of a collaborative project between dance artist Live Strugstad, composer and musician Stina Stjern, photographer Janne Amalie Svit, and architect and artist Mio Oribe Stuberg Ueno. Through this preliminary phase, they seek to cultivate a shared vocabulary, a method and experiential framework, with soil as their common point of departure — as matter, landscape, and state of being. PODSOL is a performative installation that within the context of I AM UNDONE at Emanuel Vigeland Museum, engage with darkness and resonance as active agents.

The duo Alexandra Kyttari Djupesland (runs Djup Studio in Oslo) and Thea Helle (recently completed an MFA in Fine Art at the Academy of Fine Art in Bergen) both have backgrounds in architecture and work site-specifically with temporary works in natural, edible, and biodegradable materials. Through serving rituals, they highlight fragments of the space and allow the audience to experience the site through sight, touch, smell, taste, and sound. The work GOOD EGG refers to Emanuel Vigeland’s egg-shaped urn, and through acting with agar agar, two pregnant bodies fill the mausoleum with female egg production.

𝐒𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐡 Ø𝐬𝐞𝐭𝐡 & 𝐒𝐨𝐟𝐢𝐚 𝐅𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐡
Shelmith Øseth is a Kenyan-Norwegian freelance dancer and movement artist based in Bergen and Oslo, Norway. Her artistic journey is rooted in a practice that bridges contemporary dance with traditional African dance forms such as indlamu and pantsula from South Africa, and isukuti from Kenya’s Luhya tribe. Through her performances, she explores themes of identity, migration, and cultural intersectionality.
For I AM UNDONE, Shelmith begins exploring her new project VENOM - third part of a trilogy confronting power, pain, and the sacredness of the womb. Together with Sofia Farrah, she brings their different experiences and embodied knowledge into the exploration of the womb as a concept and lived reality.

𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐤 𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐤
Bendik Bendik works performance-based and exploratory through media such as video, photography and installation. The body - often his own - functions as both subject and material. He examines relationships and subtle tensions within normative perceptions and gender identities, and explores situations where one becomes stuck, caught between the body's unused functions and its exposed actions. These moments open up questions about memories, identity and vulnerability. He is one of the four artists in the Atelier Kunstnerforbundet studio program (2024-2026). For I AM UNDONE, Bendik shows an excerpt of the work towards a performance series. In "Father, Something Has Stuck With Me" we follow a figure who wanders through the darkness in search of a closeness that has disappeared and that which perhaps does not want to be found. The work is developed with support from Atelier Kunstnerforbundet.
